Austin Waymo Chokes and Leaves Passengers Stranded

Another driverless taxi incident has people wondering who still wants to be in this business.

Navarro, who detailed her wild ride on TikTok, said the incident started when the Waymo went haywire, whisking the group off in the opposite direction they needed to go.

Luckily, Waymo riders can contact live customer support for incidents that happen during their ride. Unfortunately, the remote agent didn’t do much — and by the sound of it, couldn’t have even if he wanted to.

Jan6 Crackdown Credited With Reduced Political Violence

A scientist says the law and order used to crackdown on Trump supporters was the biggest factor in reducing American political violence.

…the biggest factor in the decline was the post–Jan. 6 crackdown and the dismantling of groups most active in 2020—like the Proud Boys. That enforcement is a major reason we’ve seen less extremist violence lately.

Tesla Buries Another Lawsuit: Millions Paid to Block Investigation and Hush Victim Family

In context of day after day of similar “veered” crashes killing more and more people, Tesla went for a hush payment of millions again to block further investigation and exposure of alleged serious safety defects.

The estate’s lawsuit said Clyde Leach’s Tesla Model Y suddenly accelerated, went off the road and slammed into a pillar at an Ohio gas station. Leach, 72, died from blunt force trauma, burns and other injuries.

“Tesla was aware that its vehicles — including the Model Y — have reportedly on hundreds of occasions accelerated suddenly and without explanation,” the lawsuit said.

As one journalist just put it…

…if Tesla ever settles a case, it is admitting that it was in the wrong, even if settlements often come with no admission of wrongdoing.
