A Tesla violently crashed on Taishan Avenue East in Yubei District, Chongqing at around 3:00 p.m. on April 6, adding another case to a notoriously questionable safety record.
The manufacturer with a troubling history of sudden unintended acceleration complaints in China, once again inexplicably accelerated to dangerous speeds, veered over large dirt mound in the median, launched into the air, and landed atop five parked vehicles.
Video evidence shows the missile-like Tesla riccocheted off at least one vehicle and lost a hubcap, as it accelerated towards a busy intersection. The vehicle catastrophically crushed a blue truck mid-flight, flipped multiple times, and ultimately bombed into parked luxury vehicles including Porsche and Audi.
The owner stepped out calmly despite their vehicle almost completely destroying a half dozen others, raising questions about causes of erratic behavior in a kamikaze-like event.
