Let’s call this story a buried lede. An electric vehicle that exploded by remote control, not very unlike a pager or a Tesla, has been called out by Russian officials trying to explain how they just lost their chief of chemical weapons.
…according to Russian authorities, [their suspect] confessed that he had been recruited by Ukrainian intelligence to kill Kirillov. “On their instructions, he arrived in Moscow and was given a homemade explosive device. He placed it on an electric scooter, which he parked at the entrance to the apartment building where Igor Kirillov lived,” the spokesperson for the Russian Investigative Committee said.
The future of warfare arrived five years ago.
What do you think in a city when you find the ugly American electric scooter, or the even uglier Tesla, haphazardly parked in everyone’s way?
You know what I mean. Scooters and Tesla are known uniquely for habits of parking irregularly and often hazardously.
In other words Moscow should have known better, especially their chief of chemical weapons.
Paris wasn’t wrong and their referendum on safety had clearly warned the Russian leaders.
Three companies, Lime, Dott and Tier… were dogged with complaints from some quarters of the city over issues like safety, reckless riding and parking. […] Over 90% of voters that turned out to the polls voted in favor of the ban.
And England hasn’t been messing about either.
PC Mitch Hunt said people …should know it is against the law to use them anywhere other than on private land. “It is an offence to ride an e-scooter in a public space,” he said.
Ding dong, Igor Kirillov is gone, and the horrible anti-safety scooters that killed him still are allowed in Moscow.
Now, think again about Tesla. Imagine Putin offering Elon Musk a deal to activate thousands of unsold EV inventory, already being suspiciously manipulated strategically into a launch pattern from an old Air Force base outside of Berlin.
[Putin’s propagandist] aligned the intellectual level of American politicians to Soviet kindergartener… These people who are being announced as potential members of [Trump’s] team certainly bring us lots of joy. Most of these people are constant guests of RT’s broadcasts. Until RT was shut down, they were our constant guests. For example, Tulsi Gabbard, who keeps being hounded about this right now, “Ah, you love RT, you constantly shared their clips, you constantly went there.” Well, she did come to us all the time, it’s true. It’s not something you can conceal…
What’s stopping anyone (including hackers) from manipulating these “Americans with the intelligence of Soviet kindergarteners” in order to send all their explosive centrally remote-controlled chemical cluster munitions into EU cities to cause mass destruction?
Scooters at least need a human to keep them upright.
