Related to a Presidential candidate warning about the “bloodbath” he will unleash on America if he doesn’t win, a recent case shows Mississippi hasn’t changed much in 150 years.
“The six white deputies broke into a private home, accused two young Black men of ‘dating white women’ then proceeded to beat, taser, attack, and assault the two young victims,” Shabazz said in a news release. “The tragic melee ended when… Deputy Hunter Elward attempted to kill Michael Jenkins by shooting him in the mouth.”
In August, all six pleaded guilty to multiple felony counts at the federal courthouse downtown. Just days later, the six pleaded guilty to state charges in Rankin County Circuit Court.
They are now being sentenced. Why “goon squad“?
Some of the officers called themselves “The Goon Squad” because of their willingness to use excessive force and not report it, federal prosecutors said.
…illegally entered their home and handcuffed, kicked, waterboarded and tased them and attempted to sexually assault them over nearly two hours before one of the deputies put a gun in Jenkins’ mouth and shot him.
Apparently they saw themselves as unaccountable domestic terrorists.
It reads like something straight out of 1869 when the KKK tried to torture and kill Black men who didn’t vote Seymour for president.
In related news, Mississippi GOP candidates are almost as bad as Louisiana and Arkansas.
…Darrell Leon McClanahan III, said a picture of him apparently giving a Nazi salute was from “a religious Christian Identity Cross lighting ceremony,” not a cross burning.
Oh, wait, I forgot North Carolina too.
On the Russian social media site VKontakte, McClanahan uses the screen name Gordon Kahl. Kahl was a member of the far-right anti-government Posse Comitatus movement and Christian Identity adherent who was involved in two fatal shootouts with law enforcement in 1983.
Russia again. You mean to tell me treasonous militant racists in America lean on Russia?
So this guy tried running for Governor of a state while claiming that his Nazi salute with a burning cross was an innocent event devoid of meaning. He may as well have called it his Goon initiation ceremony.
Six less votes for him now I guess with the sentencing.
